Aberlour 10 Years Review

Country: Scotland
Brand: Aberlour
Type: Single Malt Whisky
Region: Speyside
Age: 10 Years
Alcohol: 40%

Colour: Amber/Gold.

Nose: Pleasant. Creamy Malt, Vanilla, Apple Pie, Sherry, Butterscotch, Nuts, Dried Fruits, Cinnamon. Bit of Oak after a couple of minutes.

Taste:  Sherry, Spicy (Cinnamon, Nutmeg), a bit of Mint perhaps. Rather disappointing after the delicate nose.

Finish:  Short, Clean. Dry. Nutty.

Rating: 81

Nose: 22 – Taste: 20 – Finish: 19 – Overall: 20

General Remarks: I believe it’s the best selling Single Malt in France. It’s certainly not too expensive, which might explain part of this popularity. I added a couple of drops of water but that just watered everything down. Better drink this one neat.

Drinking Experience Neat: Good but not really exciting

Conclusion: Once again, the nose promises more than the Malt actually delivers on the palate. The finish is clean but short. It’s certainly not a bad whisky but I can’t really get excited about this.
